BroadStaff is thrilled to be working with our client, who is an Engineering and Site Development Firm specializing is telecommunication site work, on their Full Time, Direct Hire Engineering Project Mangaer in the Elkridge, MD  office.

The Enigneering Project Manager wil be responsible for the supervision, management, and quality control for a team of engineers and drafters in the production of zoning drawings, construction drawings, cost estimates, and other construction/contract documents and field inspections for various telecommunication structures and buildings.  The ideal candidate will have  proven leadership quaities with oversight  of teams and Engineering projects knowing how to react to as project needs change, prioritizing and moveing resources.  Experience in civil and operations is critical.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and participate in field work as needed in order to ensure efficient, effective, and innovative approaches to meet the clients’ needs
  • Read and understand design drawings for complex buildings and various telecommunication structures
  • Provide guidance and training to junior level engineers
  • Perform QA/QC
  • Attend meetings with contractors and construction managers
  • Communicate clearly with clients and company employees as to daily tasks performed both on the client site and in the office
  • Modest travel required
  • Supervision of multiple projects as the client point of contact with emphasis on timely submittals, managing revenue/profits margins, and facilitating payments/invoicing
  • Responsible for managing staff and vendors for work in progress pertaining to project deliverables and milestones
  • Maintain project trackers and internal database for assigned projects
  • Responsible for managing the financial aspect of assigned projects including bidding and proposals, obtaining purchase orders, review/approve vendor invoices, and revenue forecast through project closeout

 

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (NOT REQUIRED)
  • 4+ years of engineering experience is required
  • Telecommunications experience is required
  • Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD
  • Extensive technical experience and knowledgeable in Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical principles, as well as applicable design guides and standards is required
  • Knowledgeable in industry and technology trends
  • Knowledgeable in construction practices and principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple functions/tasks in a very fast-paced environment
  • Analytical thinking – The ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
  • Strategic Planning / Thinking – The ability to analyze the organization’ s competitive position by considering market and industry trends, existing and potential customers, and strengths and weaknesses as compared to competitors
  • Entrepreneurial Orientation – The ability to look for and seize profitable business opportunities; willingness to take calculated risks to achieve business goals
